C-CDA Content Testing Documentation (Approved/Effective January 11, 2017)
This page provides the documentation package for use with the enhanced content testing program for the eHealth Exchange and includes the content test procedures and associated test data. The testing documentation provides guidance from five Health Level 7 (HL7) publications and shall be used for conformance testing requirements and procedures later in 2017 when the tooling for testing is made available. ARCHIVED: C-CDA CCD Content Testing Pilot Documentation (published April 11, 2016) - updated documentation published 11/15/2016
There are three documents that are published for use with the planned testing pilot and include the content test procedures drafted for public comment. Currently, the testing workgroup is focused on content testing and these documents have been published as of April 11. The word document provides guidance from four Health Level 7 (HL7) publications and shall be used with the spreadsheet and pdf that will be developed into a requirements document for conformance to the agreed upon requirements to be further defined during the pilot testing phase.
Please provide comments, edits or questions to testing@sequoiaproject.org for review by the Testing Workgroup during the pilot phase scheduled through June 30, 2016.

- Publish Content Testing Documentation Available for public comment 11/05/2015 (Testing Workgroup and Specification Factory).
- Tooling assessment – 3 months – December 2015 – February 2016 - this will include determination of testing tools to be used and manual testing requirements that may not be met by automated tooling. It is expected feedback from pilot will help prioritize tooling improvements for use by the program in production.
- Pilot Trial period – 3 months – April 2016 - June 2016.
- Mandatory content testing – Consideration by Coordinating Committee after Pilot concludes – Date TBD.
