To accelerate public health interoperability using scalable solutions, and to recognize the investments needed to innovate, eHealth Exchange is offering a financial incentive for the first 5 Health Information Exchanges or state/local Public Health Agencies.
How to qualify for the financial incentive
The first 5 early adopting Health Information Exchanges or state/local Public Health Agencies who exchange with use and meeting the following criteria:
Qualification Criteria
- Commit by 4/30/2024 to exchanging clinical data for an agreed-upon public health use case via eHealth Exchange,
- Begin testing by 6/30/2024, and
- Go-live in Production exchanging this public health data with other eHealth Exchange Participants or TEFCA QHINs by 12/30/2024.

Use Cases
While TEFCA finalizes its public health use cases, you can connect with eHealth Exchange for electronic Case Reporting (eCR), case investigation, or a different agreed upon TEFCA public health use case.

Electronic Case Reporting
Enables providers’ EHRs to automatically notify public health agencies (as required by applicable law).
Electronic Lab Reporting
Enables laboratories to automatically notify public health agencies with lab results (as required by the applicable law).
Electronic Case Investigation
Provides the ability to query and retrieve additional information in response to a disease or condition that has already been reported under applicable law.
