Health Information Exchanges
Better together: leverage the strengths of your HIE and our national network
Regional and state health information exchanges ( HIEs ) offer providers vital connectivity. But healthcare ignores borders. Your participants need access beyond your immediate service area.
eHealth Exchange provides that.
Network by the Numbers
eHealth Exchange connects a broad range of public and private organizations. Your participants will benefit from this expanded connectivity without any additional IT infrastructure or legal investments.

Beyond Borders
Healthcare is a local concern, until it isn’t. More and more people are working remotely, traveling, or maintaining seasonal homes. Patients seek care when and where they need it.
Ensuring quality care and continuity means having access to all patient health data.
eHealth Exchange provides that. We are the largest health information network in the nation, facilitating more than 21 billion health data transactions annually.
Connect to Carequality and TEFCA
eHealth Exchange makes it easy for HIEs to connect to Carequality and ONC’s Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement™ (TEFCA™). We are fully integrated with Carequality and are one of the first Designated Qualified Health Information Networks™ (QHIN™) under TEFCA.
Participants have the option to connect to one or both national interoperability frameworks via eHealth Exchange by signing the associated terms and conditions.
Exchange with 35+ networks using Carequality, including athenahealth, CommonWell Health Alliance, eClinicalWorks, Epic, and others.
As one of the first designated QHINs, our participants can easily opt-in to TEFCA-based exchange with eHealth Exchange.
Look beyond clinical care—engage public health
Health data supports more than treatment. Public health agencies, social services, and others play important roles in the healthcare system and need access to health records.
We can connect you in real-time with public health agencies in all 50 states.
Support your participants' prior authorization needs
With the looming CMS APIs deadline of 2027, eHealth Exchange participants are leveraging our FHIR-based prior authorization use case right now.
With eHealth Exchange, you will always be on the cutting edge of access to healthcare data.
