Our Network
eHealth Exchange is a “Network of Networks” facilitating exchange of health information among providers, regional and state HIEs, public health authorities, payers, and federal agencies, including optional onramps to Carequality and TEFCA™.
eHealth Exchange Hub
The Hub is the key component to eHealth Exchange’s network for sharing health data. It is a centralized system that serves as a shared gateway across participants and other networks.
The Hub is not a data repository or warehouse of patient information.
Using a hub and spoke model, we establish bi-directional connections with participating hospital systems, physician groups, regional and state HIEs, federal and public health agencies, payers, and others.
High quality health information and patient data
The Hub requires health information and patient data to meet specific standards of quality before it can be exchanged. In fact, eHealth Exchange is the only national network that requires rigorous content validation tests.
This means all data exchanged is truly interoperable and usable.
Secure, encrypted patient information
As a network trusted by federal and state agencies, eHealth Exchange exceeds industry standards and has achieved HITRUST and NIST security certifications.
No clinical or central data repository
Unlike other networks, we don’t store patient data, track patient movements, or use or disclose patient data for secondary purposes.
This makes us a less attractive target for cyber-criminals.
More than 250 million patients, including our own families, are counting on us to keep their information private. We hold ourselves and our participants to strictest standards in the industry.
