PULSE: A Health IT Disaster Response Platform

Following the official PULSE HIMSS education session, join Leslie Witten-Rood of CalEMSA, Mariann Yeager of Sequoia Project, and Scott Afzal of Audacious Inquiry, for an abbreviated presentation with plenty of time for all your questions. Learn more about how PULSE impacted the California Wildfire response and plans to leverage the eHealth Exchange to expand the platform to more communities.

Leveraging eHealth Exchange for Direct Messaging

Tuesday 1:00-1:30 p.m.

Veterans Health Administration now uses Direct Messaging through the eHealth Exchange gateway to send referrals between VA facilities and community providers. Leonard Tambasco of DSS Inc., who pioneered the use case, will join Jennifer Rosas of eHealth Exchange, to talk about health IT interoperability support for veterans and their families, and the future of Direct Messaging on the national network.

eHealth Exchange Network Roadmap

The network has evolved from a project of the Office of National Health IT Coordinator (ONC) to an initiative of The Sequoia Project to becoming an independent non-profit in October 2018 with ambitious plans for expansion and innovative enhancements. Executive Director Jay Nakashima will share what’s next on the eHealth Exchange network roadmap.

Sharing Patient Data with the VA

WEDNESDAY 3:00 – 3:30 p.m.

The eHealth Exchange is the principle way patient data is exchanged today between the Veterans Administration and community providers, as well as other federal agencies. Join representatives from the Veterans Health Administration for a conversation about how you can better serve the veterans and families in your community by becoming a health information exchange partner.
