Individual Access Services

Enabling individuals access to their medical records

eHealth Exchange offers easy connectivity for individual access service providers.

A patient's right to their health information

HIPAA gives individuals the right to access their health information, and the Interoperability and Patient Access final rule (CMS-9115-F) redefined how patients can control or access their health information, including electronically.

Individual access means you have greater control and access to your health information, and you can more easily share your data with more providers, health applications, or health data services.

Take greater control of your healthcare data

By taking greater control of your healthcare data, you can see better outcomes.

As a patient, you can’t join eHealth Exchange directly. The way you can connect to access your data is through personal health apps that participate in our network. These apps are called Individual Access Service (IAS) providers.

Get more direct access to patient records

As an IAS provider, you are passionate about providing individuals, including those with chronic health conditions, a solution to access, control, and manage their personal healthcare information.

eHealth Exchange helps make that happen.

We enable IAS providers to easily access patient data across our extensive network, as well as through TEFCA™.

How IAS providers can connect to TEFCA via eHealth Exchange

Join Our QHIN

eHealth Exchange is a Qualified Health Information Network® (QHIN™) under TEFCA.

If you are an IAS provider participating in our network, you can provide your clients with easy access to retrieve their medical information from across the healthcare continuum.

Empower consumers

Having access to personal health information can be a game changer!

Individuals will be better able to:

Patient records are safe with us

More than 250 million patients rely on us to keep their information private. We hold ourselves and our participants to the strictest standards in the industry.

Unlike other networks, eHealth Exchange does not store your data, track your movements, or use or disclose your patient data for secondary purposes. This makes us a less attractive target for cyber-criminals.

Similar to a utility company, we just provide the pipes for your encrypted health information to securely flow from one place to another.

Join the same network as your customers' care teams

eHealth Exchange connects a broad range of public and private organizations, and individual access providers can join the same network as your customers’ care teams. When you join eHealth Exchange, you will benefit from our extensive network including:
