On September 21, 2021, the Coordinating Committee approved revisions to the Use Cases Specification document.  These changes include support of USCDI v1 and USCDI v2, and FHIR R4 for several use cases.  The adoption of these specifications is not required, and allows Participants when ready to move forward with adoption on their timeline.  eHealth Exchange will continue to support SOAP, FHIR STU3 and Direct for our Participants exchanging data using these specifications.

On September 21, 2021 the Coordinating Committee approved revisions to the Validation Plan (1) adjusted definition of FHIR on page 3, (2) renamed Section 4.3 from “Transport and Services” to “eHealth Exchange Approved Use Cases and Corresponding Standards” , (3)Removed the specifications, use cases and content from 4.3, since they are now curated outside of the Validation Plan,  (4) Updated broken links, (5) removed Section 4.4 (“eHealth Exchange Approved Use Cases and Corresponding Standards”) and Section 5 (“eHealth Exchange Data Content Requirements and Conformance Expectations”) as they are now curated outside of the Validation Plan.  A copy of the documents is available at https://ehealthexchange.org/testing-program/.

According to DURSA Section 11.03, the OPP Change Process, an OPP may only take effect following a thirty (30) day period where Participants have the opportunity to register any objections to the OPP.

To that end, please advise by close of business on 10/30/2021 if you have any concerns regarding these changes being adopted for the eHealth Exchange.

If fewer than 1/3 of eHealth Exchange Participants object, the changes outlined shall go into effect on 9/30/2020. If more than 1/3 of eHealth Exchange Participants object, additional steps must be taken before it can be adopted.

Thank you in advance for your support,
The eHealth Exchange Team
