Starting this week, the Defense Department will begin sharing non-active duty patient records with private-sector doctors in its TRICARE network. The effort is through the military’s Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record Health Information Exchange Initiative. “All your providers — whether at a military hospital or clinic or civilian providers who have met the stringent security requirements and joined the eHealth Exchange can access your records and health information electronically.”
