Draft Documentation for Comment
C-CDA Content Testing Documentation (published November 15, 2016)
There are three documents that are published for use with the enhanced content testing program that include the content test procedures and associated test data. The testing documentation provides guidance from five Health Level 7 (HL7) publications and shall be used for conformance testing requirements and procedures to be required starting January 2017. Please provide comments, edits or questions to testing@sequoiaproject.org for review by the Testing Workgroup during the public comment period.
2017 Content Testing Documentation
Please note that the following HL7 documentation is subject to HL7 licensing requirements. The two HL7 documents referenced in the testing pilot are:
- HL7 Implementation Guide for CDA® Release 2: IHE Health Story Consolidation, DSTU Release 1.1 (US Realm) Draft Standard for Trial Use
- HL7 Implementation Guide: S&I Framework Transitions of Care Companion Guide to Consolidated-CDA for Meaningful Use Stage 2, Release 1 – US Realm
- HL7 Implementation Guide for CDA® Release 2: Consolidated CDA Templates for Clinical Notes (US Realm) Draft Standard for Trial Use Release 2.1 – Volume 1 – Introductory Material(August 2015)

Pilot Timeline Plan implementation (please see the communications & calendar page for the latest roadmap spreadsheet)
- Publish Content Testing Documentation for Pilot 04/11/2016
- Pilot Trial period – 3 months – April 2016 – June 2016.
- Mandatory content testing – Consideration by Coordinating Committee after Pilot concludes – Date TBD.
Patient Health Record (PHR) Specification and Testing Requirements for Comment (reviewed 2016-01-19)
This specification and testing requirements document was reviewed on the January 19, 2016 Testing Workgroup call by The Sequoia Project CTO/CIO, Eric Heflin. Please reference the recording for a one hour review of the documentation that can be found on the Communications and Calendar Page. Please provide comments to Testing@SequoiaProject.org.

There are three documents that are published for use with the planned testing pilot and include the content test procedures drafted for public comment. Currently, the testing workgroup is focused on content testing and these documents have been published as of April 11. The word document provides guidance from four Health Level 7 (HL7) publications and shall be used with the spreadsheet and pdf that will be developed into a requirements document for conformance to the agreed upon requirements to be further defined during the pilot testing phase. Please provide comments, edits or questions to testing@SequoiaProject.org.for review by the Testing Workgroup during the pilot phase scheduled through June 30, 2016.

- Publish Content Testing Documentation Available for public comment 11/05/2015 (Testing Workgroup and Specification Factory).
- Tooling assessment – 3 months – December 2015 – February 2016 – this will include determination of testing tools to be used and manual testing requirements that may not be met by automated tooling. It is expected feedback from pilot will help prioritize tooling improvements for use by the program in production.
- Pilot Trial period – 3 months – April 2016 – June 2016.
- Mandatory content testing – Consideration by Coordinating Committee after Pilot concludes – Date TBD.
