Access to the eHealth Exchange directory’s UDDI APIs will be retired and will no longer be accessible by participants after August 16, 2024. Your organization should consume the directory’s FHIR R4 API content going forward.
The FHIR R4 HAPI-based directories have been available to all participants since April 12, 2023.
The legacy directories were retired on July 27, 2023, and are no longer accessible by participants. To facilitate the migration to the FHIR R4 HAPI-based directories, the eHealth Exchange forwarded all requests (including UDDI requests) from the legacy directories to the HAPI-based directories from August 10, 2023, onwards.
During the August 2023 All Participant Call, (which can be viewed by going to https://ehealthexchange.org/communications/), it was announced that the UDDI API would be retired on December 15, 2023. We have provided additional time to allow participants still using the UDDI APIs to migrate to the FHIR R4 client API. Again, the UDDI APIs will no longer be accessible after August 16,2024.
If you are not certain whether your organization is using the endpoints of the HAPI-based directories for FHIR R4 content and/or are concerned you may be relying on forwarding, please send an inquiry to administrator@ehealthexchange.org.
The April 18, 2024, all-participant call will provide technical details on accessing the directory and the April slide deck will be available https://ehealthexchange.org/communications/ shortly thereafter.
For the latest information about using the directory plus information for organizations that need to track deleted directory entries, please see https://ehealthexchange.org/fhir-r4-directory-rollout/. If you require information about directory endpoints or require an API security key for the directory’s FHIR R4 API, please submit a case using techsupport@ehealthexchange.org.
Scope:
These changes will be applied to the eHealth Exchange Hub PRODUCTION environment as outlined above.
Impact:
We do not anticipate any other service interruptions during the Thursday maintenance event; Real-time routing of messages through the Hub will be unaffected.
Support:
eHealth Exchange staff will monitor administrator@ehealthexchange.org during the upgrade window to address any questions or concerns.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND REMINDERS:
The eHealth Exchange Hub team has implemented a recurring weekly scheduled maintenance window each Thursday evening at 5:00pm ET for all non-urgent events. The duration of each maintenance event will be determined by the respective changes for each event, and details will be communicated to all Participants at least 48 hours prior to the event. If there are no changes for any given week, then the maintenance event will not occur, and no notice will be sent. Also please note that Operating System and similar updates that do not require a service outage, and do not require changes to the application layer, will be performed during this scheduled maintenance window without specific notice due to their frequent and routine nature.
